The HItman’s Bodyguard will take the No.1 Spot this weekend to repeat from last weekend in the worst performing weekend of the year. The Domestic box office will also be hampered by the Mcgregor v Mayweather fight on Saturday. The new releases of Leap!, All Saints & Birth Of A Dragon shouldn’t even challenge with Ingird Goes west and Wind River expanding. Wonder Woman and Baby Driver are re-expanding for labour weekend next week by 1000 theatres to get the hype up.
in first place will be lionsgate’s the hitman’s bodyguard starring samuel l. jackson and ryan reynolds. the film took a solid $21.3M last weekend to take the no.1 spot last weeknd and it looks like it’s going to be the same way. It should drop around 48-53% this weekend putting it around $10.4M to take it’s domestic cume over $40M.
in second place will be warner bros. annabelle: creation entering it’s third weekend. the film dropped 55% last weekend and should fare slightly better this weekend, more like -51%. this will put it at around $7.7M for a third weekend taking it’s domestic cume near $80m. so far it’s taken $167M worldwide and is looking for that magical $300m by the end of it’s international run.
in third will be the first of the three new wide releases, leap! it’s had such little marketing i had no idea it was coming out this weekend. it will be the same with the box office, where it will take only $4.5m. behind it will be taylor sheridan’s wind river, expanding into 2000 theatres (unconfirmed). it should take another $4.3m to continue it’s domestic run taking it’s domestic cume near $10m. rounding out the top 5 will be logan lucky dropping around 45% to take another $4.2m.
