I am telling the truth that Casey Affleck and Ryan Gosling both received 119 votes each, meaning that they both win!

 

Best Actress In A Motion Picture

1 Emma Stone – La La Land

2 Amy Adams – Arrival

3 Natalie Portman – Jackie

4 Isabelle Huppert – Elle

5 Emily Blunt – The Girl On The Train

We put Amy Adams in the nominations for Arrival and she finished an impressive second behind the favourite and winner for the Best Actress category: Emma Stone.

 

Best Director

1 Damien Chapelle – La La Land

2 Denis Villeneuve – Arrival

3 Clint Eastwood – Sully

4 Barry Jenkins – Moonlight

5 Martin Scorsese – Silence

Again, Arrival finished no.2 behind La La Land. Well done to Damien Chapelle, the winner of Best Director.

 

Best Supporting Actor In A Motion Picture

1 Dev Patel – Lion

2 Mahershala Ali – Moonlight

3 Michael Shannon – Nocturnal Animals

4 Jeremy Renner – Arrival

5 Liam Neeson – Silence

Well this was a close one, but Dev Patel wins the award for Best Supporting Actor.

 

Best Supporting Actress In A Motion Picture

1 Viola Davis – Fences

2 Naomie Harris – Moonlight

3 Michelle Williams – Manchester By The Sea

4 Octavia Spencer – Hidden Figures

5 Nicole Kidman – Lion

The same five were nominated for the Academy Awards and I expect it will also be the same order.

 

Best Original Screenplay

1 Manchester By The Sea

2 La La Land

3 20th Century Women

4 Jackie

5 Hail, Caesar!

This was also a close one but Kenneth Lonergan beat Damien Chapelle in this category.

 

Best Adapted Screenplay

1 Moonlight

2 Arrival

3 Hidden Figures

4 Fences

5 Silence

Moonlight thoroughly deserved a win and they won it in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

 

Best Animated Feature Film

1 Zootopia

2 Moana

3 Kubo & The Two Strings

4 The Jungle Book

5 Finding Dory

Whilst Kubo & The Two Strings won the BAFTA Award Zootopia leads the way and wins Best Animated Film.

 

Best Foreign Language Film

1 The Salesman

2 Tony Erdmann

3 A Man Called Ove

4 Land of Mine

5 Tanna

Tony Erdmann could win an Oscar but The Salesman wins a UKFA Award.

Whilst Johan Johansson was DQ’ed on the Oscars (Such A Disgrace) he finished second behind the obvious winner of Justin Hurwitz.
