Box Office – Hidden Figures to be at No.1 for second weekend

With the Friday estimates in it looks like Hidden Figures will be at No.1 one again, but behind it will be very tight indeed. With new releases including horror-film The Bye Bye Man and Mark Wahlberg’s Patriot’s Day about the Boston Marathon bombing, mixed in with La La Land, about to reach $75 million in it’s domestic cume, it will be extremely close.

With Hidden Figures taking in $5.5M on Friday it should be looking at a $19M weekend at No.1. Of the weekend’s brand new releases, The Bye Bye Man is leading the way bringing in just $95,000 less than Hidden Figures. It should be looking at a $15M weekend. Patriot’s Day brought in $4.13M and is looking at a disappointing $12M weekend. Award darling La La Land, taking in seven Golden Globes last week is looking at a $13-14M weekend, making it’s domestic total at an impressive $75M.

Besides these films there are more! Monster Trucks took in $2.6M on Friday and is looking at a $9-10M weekend. Jamie Foxx’s Sleepless brought in $3M and is looking at a $9M weekend. Ben Affleck’s Live By Night will bring in $5.4M in it’s weekend.
